Come out and raise a glass to support Doug Duffy in his fight against stage IV lung cancer. Doug is undergoing both immunotherapy and radiation treatments.
Beer: Bootstrap will be donating $1 from every beer sold to help Doug offset his medical expenses. IDs are required at all times for those who would like to purchase beer.
Parking: Please park anywhere in the Niwot Square complex, except in front of Starbuds.
Music: The Jackson Cloud Band (4:30-6:30)
Yard Games: Weather permitting
Fill His Bucket: Doug often talked with his students about “filling their buckets.” Our goal is to fill up Doug’s buckets with words of encouragement and much needed financial support.
Words of encouragement: cards, kind notes, jokes, and favorite memories
Gift cards are a great way to help with meals, groceries, and keeping a positive outlook: Lucky's Market and Pumphouse Brewery are two of Doug's favorites. Other grocery store and restaurant cards are also welcome (restaurants with vegan and organic options are encouraged).
More About Doug: Doug Duffy is an integral part of the Niwot Community. He retired from his 30-year social studies teaching career at Niwot High School in December of 2017. Beyond teaching, his name often comes up in reference to Student Council, cross country, basketball, and his beloved ** Buffs and golden retreivers. Doug's son, Collin, is a junior at Northern Arizona University. Sally Herreid, Doug's devoted partner, continues to work at Niwot High School as a math teacher while also managing his care.
