The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is holding information sessions for people with disability, family members and carers to educate and support a person through their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) journey. The sessions will assist potential and existing participants to understand and access the NDIS, and to use their plans to become informed and empowered NDIS users.
The sessions will cover:
Overview of the NDIS
Accessing the NDIS and eligibility requirements
Preparing for your planning meeting or scheduled review meeting
Understanding your NDIS plan
Using your NDIS Plan
Learning about School Leaver Employment Supports
Learning about the NDIS and Early Childhood Early Intervention
Accessing and using the MyPlace Participant Portal
The session format will offer:
An informal one-hour drop-in session to have individual conversations with representatives of NDIA and/or the Local Area Coordinator (including our ECEI partner)
A formal presentation to learn about the NDIS covering the topics listed above
An opportunity to ask your questions.
Places are strictly limited so registration is essential. Note that it is only necessary to book for one session as they all follow the same format.
Accessibility is important to us. Please allow a minimum of five (5) business days' notice for us to book AUSLAN interpreters.
